Book Studio Agreement & Publishing Policy
Effective July 31, 2026 · This agreement supplements GEMiO's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Your content and permission to use it
You may import or upload only material you created, own, or have permission to use. You keep your rights in your original content. You give GEMiO a limited licence to store, process, format, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate Book Studio, generate your requested book, deliver purchases, and provide support.
2. AI-assisted drafting
Book Studio uses third-party AI providers to transcribe selected audio, organize source material, and draft text. AI output may contain errors, omissions, invented statements, bias, or unsuitable language. AI is a drafting tool—not an author, editor, lawyer, fact-checker, or professional adviser. You must meaningfully review, edit, and approve the final manuscript before publishing.
3. Creator warranties
By publishing, you confirm that the book does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights; is not defamatory, deceptive, unlawful, or plagiarized; does not contain undisclosed private information; and includes any permissions, citations, disclosures, warnings, or professional review appropriate for its subject.
4. Restricted and sensitive content
You may not publish instructions that facilitate violence, abuse, fraud, illegal activity, or dangerous conduct. Medical, legal, financial, health, or safety content must not misrepresent AI output as professional advice and must include appropriate qualifications and disclaimers. GEMiO may reject, unpublish, or request changes to content that creates legal, safety, or platform-integrity risk.
5. Names, images, and personal stories
Before including another person's private communications, image, voice, personal story, or identifying information, you must have a lawful basis and any permission that is reasonably required. Do not import private or confidential material merely because you can access it.
6. Publishing, pricing, and sales
You choose whether to publish and set the displayed price. Applicable fees, payment processing, payouts, taxes, chargebacks, and digital-delivery rules are described in the Terms of Service and at checkout. Product descriptions, prices, claims, and promotional statements must be accurate and must not create a false or misleading impression.
7. Reader licence and refunds
A buyer receives a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read the delivered digital book. The buyer may not reproduce, redistribute, or resell it. Because delivery is digital, sales are generally final except where required by law or where the delivered file is materially defective and cannot be corrected.
8. Review, complaints, and removal
GEMiO may review reported books, temporarily limit distribution, remove unlawful or policy-violating material, preserve records required for disputes or law, and terminate repeat infringers. Creators must cooperate with legitimate copyright, privacy, fraud, and consumer complaints.
9. Privacy, deletion, and withdrawal
The Privacy Policy explains what Book Studio imports, which processors receive it, retention, safeguards, and deletion. You can disconnect sources or delete a book and its imported content from Book Studio, subject to limited legal, fraud-prevention, transaction, and backup-retention obligations.
10. Relationship to GEMiO terms
This policy supplements the Terms of Service. If there is a conflict about Book Studio, this Book Studio Agreement governs that feature; mandatory consumer rights and applicable law continue to apply.
